π‘οΈ Temperature

A few additional showers and thunderstorms could develop this afternoon, with the highest rain chances appearing to favor our South Carolina counties.
βοΈ Severe Weather
Threat: None
Discussion: Severe weather is not expected today. Any thunderstorm can still produce dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning. When thunder roars, head indoors!
π Rip Currents
Threat: None
Discussion: Rip currents are not expected to be a major threat along area beaches today. Swimmers should still remain aware of changing surf conditions and follow instructions from lifeguards and local officials.
β οΈ Key Notes
π Tropical Storm Fay has begun to weaken as it starts its anticipated turn southward. Fay came close to becoming the first hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic season, but its opportunity for additional strengthening appears to be quickly diminishing as environmental conditions become less favorable.
π The cooldown discussed in previous outlooks has been delayed slightly, but it now appears stronger. From Thursday through Sunday, high temperatures across much of the region could struggle to reach 80Β°F. Morning lows could fall into the upper 50s in some locations. A jacket might actually be useful for those cooler mornings β can't believe we're finally saying that!
π Seasonal rip current forecasts will end October 1 and are scheduled to return June 1, 2027.
