DAILY WEATHER OUTLOOK

πŸ‚ Daily Weather Outlook β€” September 20, 2026

Outlook for September 20, 2026. Check the live forecast for current weather.

🌑️ Temperature

Threat: Little to None

Discussion: High temperatures will reach the upper 80s to low 90s across the area today. Lower humidity compared to yesterday will keep heat indices generally in the mid 90s. A more noticeable cooldown is expected later this week, with some locations potentially struggling to get out of the upper 70s by Friday.

🌧️ Rainfall

Threat: Limited

Discussion: A few afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible again today, continuing the pattern from yesterday. New rainfall totals of around 0.25–0.50 inches are possible, with locally higher amounts beneath thunderstorms.

β›ˆοΈ Severe Weather

Threat: None

Discussion: Severe weather is not expected today. Any thunderstorm can still produce dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning. When thunder roars, head indoors!

🌊 Rip Currents

Threat: None

Discussion: Rip currents are not expected to be a major concern along area beaches today. Swimmers should still remain cautious and follow instructions from lifeguards and local officials.

⚠️ Key Notes

πŸ‚ A transition toward more fall-like weather is expected to begin around Wednesday. Daytime highs should steadily fall from the upper 80s and low 90s early this week toward the low 80s and potentially upper 70s later in the week. Lower humidity should make the change feel even more noticeable as we officially transition into fall.

🌧️ The Climate Prediction Center's latest seasonal outlook favors above-normal precipitation across portions of the Coastal Empire. This provides additional support for the wetter pattern highlighted in our preliminary winter outlook. While seasonal outlooks cannot predict individual storms or guarantee a cool and wet winter, the broader guidance continues to support increased chances for wetter-than-normal conditions across our region this winter.
