🌀 The Tropics Are Showing Signs of Life Again

It has been about 10 days since Tropical Storm Edouard dissipated over central Texas, and since then, the Atlantic Basin has been relatively quiet. Now, we finally have something else to talk about — although, for the moment, it isn't much.

A disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms over the central subtropical Atlantic is being monitored for possible tropical development. The system is currently in an unfavorable environment, so development is not expected in the short term.

However, environmental conditions could become somewhat more favorable later this week as the disturbance moves generally westward to west-northwestward. The National Hurricane Center currently gives the system a 0% chance of development over the next 2 days and a 20% chance over the next 7 days.

There is no indication of a threat to our area at this time, and development chances remain low. Still, after nearly two weeks of quiet across the Atlantic, it's something we'll keep an eye on over the coming days. 🌀
